Meet Dr. Allison Stump

Allison Stump, DMD

It is a genuine pleasure and honor to come to work every day and provide my patients with the best possible care. As a general dentist, I am able to practice all disciplines of dentistry, which makes each day different and unique. Each patient is different as well, which requires a tailor-made treatment plan for their specific dental needs. It never ceases to amaze me how much a patient’s confidence can improve when treatment is complete. The results are life changing!

Education and Experience

From my very first dental visit at the age of four, I said I wanted to be a dentist and I never wavered. As I got older and started shadowing dentists in my hometown of Ashland, KY, I observed the multiple ways a dentist can help a patient and I loved how no two patients are the same and no two treatments are the same.

I attended Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, OH, with my Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in chemistry. I then continued to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington for my Doctorate of Medical Dentistry.

After graduating from UKCD, I returned home to Ashland and was an associate at a private practice. In November of 2022, I moved to the Oak Ridge area to join Dr. Justin Dinsmore as an associate. I love working with this amazing group of individuals! The front office, hygienists, assistants, and the doctors are willing to go out of their way to make our patients have the most comfortable dental experience. The team makes going to work so enjoyable every day. I am so fortunate to work with such caring and competent team.

Continual Learning

One of the most important aspects of working in the healthcare field is keeping on top of new and advancing research and technology. Continuing education helps me stay up to date with the latest techniques and materials along with broadening and obtaining a better understanding of treatments to provide the best care for my patients.

I am a member of several professional organizations that provide numerous educational opportunities throughout the year, including:

Outside the Office

I have two cats, Sunshine Blaze and Flossie Nellie Belle. My mom and I “share custody” of them so they travel back and forth from Ashland. Yes, Flossie is named after dental floss! I found her at the dental office I worked at in Ashland when she was a kitten. I am still settling in to Tennessee life and excited to see what East Tennessee has to offer!
